What you will learn from this book

  • Knockout.js Succinctly is intended for professional web developers who need to build dynamic, scalable user interfaces with minimal code.

  • Complete with code examples and informative diagrams yet shorter than 100 pages, Knockout.js Succinctly is the one resource you need for getting started with Knockout as fast as possible.

Pros

  • I have read this book within a 2 days. Before reading this book I had little knowledge about KO.But I didn't have any prior working experience with it.But after reading this awesome book now I feel I can easily start my next ASP.net MVC app with the KO.This book gave me that kind of confidence. Thanks to the Author.
  • This is a very concise book (only 57 pages), is directly targeted to the most needed materials about the Knockout.js.
  • The way the author has explained the code snippets are really awesome. It's very clear and we can follow it even without practically involving with the code base.Because It contains all the relevant images, output of the source code and more...
  • Another eye caching thing about this ebook is, where it's colored book.So all the source code and images are shown in color.
  • The Author has given nice tips or places where it can go wrong when we apply KO to our applications. Those points will really help when we work with real applications.
  • This book is awesome , easy to follow and most importantly it's free.

Cons

  • The url has given for the Knockout.js is outdated. So you can use This for Latest Konckout.Js
  • It's better if the source code of this book can put on the JsFiddle. Then readers can easily change the things and test lively. It'll give huge value for this book, so this is the eBook.

  1. Try out develop single page app using knokout with clientside mvc structure . Get out from asp.net MVC .
Host your REST services seperately and speak to them from clientside without get involve with asp.net .
Its time to see broad picture of app architectures other than speak about syntaxes and all unnecessary stuff delivered by MS.
Its a hightime .NET developers to think like that.. :)

  2. I tend to agree with Hasitha Ariyarathna. Getting rid of client-side MS stuff seems to make application simpler. .NET still shines on a server side - to code web services.
I'm using AngularJS as a JavaScript MV-whatever framework, but it seemd to be very similar in principles to Knockout JS.
